I possess a swimming pool with 2 offers and 12 VMs. The VMs are on an connected SR. Currently, the version of XenServer will be 6.0.2 and I need to upgrade to 7.1 but I had been questioning what's the best method to do that considering I'm not really an specialist. I possess 2 options:
Make use of Rolling pool upgrade
Install as fresh the edition 7.1
For both, I require some assistance, therefore if I use
Rolling pool upgradewill be this technique stable good enough to do this operation from 6.0.2 to 7.1? anyone had expertise with that?
XenServer 6.5 to 7.1 using Rolling Pool Upgrade and NFS XenServer 6.5 to 7.1 using Rolling Pool Upgrade and NFS. This topic has been deleted. Only users with topic management privileges can see it. Grep -e host-upgrade-plugin -e iproute -e xcp-python-libs iproute-3.6.0-1.xs1393 xcp-python-libs-2.0.0-161 host-upgrade-plugin-1.1.0-1.
Install as brand-new the version 7.1, in this situation, I would move forward in this method:
close down all VMs
backup all VMs details withxe pool-dump-database file-name=backupPool
detach machine amount one from the authentic pool
detach the SR from the authentic swimming pool
install from scrape XenServer 7.1 on server quantity one
create a brand-new pool with only server quantity one on it
attach the SR to the brand-new pool
import the back-up taken at stage 2
right now if everything is ok, I should be able to start the VMs and start once again from point 5 with the machine quantity 2
what's the greatest and safest method to proceed?
Thanks a lot a great deal

I tested it several months ago, it was upgrade from 6.2 to 7.1 bymoving pool upgradeand I did not had any problems.
I do it in steps: 6.2 gt; 6.5 gt; 7.0 gt; 7.1
About my upgrade - it was bunch with three nodes.I did upgrade by webserver with all required documents that has been set up on my workstation. Measures you pointed out are Alright.
Prepare 1st and dont forget about all necessary spots that has been launched by Citrix along the way.
go through necessary documents on upgrade,
backup configurations
proceed

detach server quantity one from the first pool
